I'm a professionally licensed civil engineer and a self-taught programmer. I run a coastal engineering firm and build software for the people who restore shorelines, streams, and wetlands, because I'm one of them.

I'm Seth. I earned my professional engineering license designing the kind of infrastructure that has to survive storms: living shorelines, restored streams, treatment wetlands, and stormwater systems across the Chesapeake Bay. That work is my day job at Sustainable Science, a coastal and ecological engineering firm.
Somewhere along the way I taught myself to program, mostly because the tools I wanted didn't exist. Now I build them. A marketplace so contractors can trade the dirt they'd otherwise haul to a dump. A daily watch on procurement portals so restoration firms never miss a bid. A Civil 3D plugin that puts real coastal analysis inside the software engineers already use.
The common thread is simple: I like building things, and I like it most when the thing is useful to the people doing hard, physical work in the field. Engineer by license, programmer by obsession, builder by default.
